Experian has launched a credit card marketplace app on OpenAI's ChatGPT platform. The move expands the credit bureau's portfolio of AI-powered financial tools, giving consumers a new way to compare card options via conversation.

Consumers are increasingly using AI to answer financial questions before making decisions. The Experian Credit Cards app on ChatGPT aims to simplify the research process, which often involves sorting through search results and multiple websites.

How the App Works

The app allows users to review offers from Experian's partner network with minimal input. It presents clear, consistent information for comparison. Key details include annual fees, introductory bonuses, rewards rates, and APR offers.

Consumers who choose to proceed can view offers matched to their Experian credit profile. They are then securely directed to the Experian website. Experian members can also view any pre-approved offers they qualify for. The service features cards labeled No Ding Decline, which reportedly do not affect a consumer's credit scores if the applicant is not initially approved.

Executive Perspectives

"Consumers expect financial experiences to be as intuitive as the technology they use every day," said Debbie Hsu, Executive Vice President of Product at Experian Consumer Services. She stated that bringing the marketplace to ChatGPT makes it easier for people to explore options and compare cards.

Michael Coleman, Chief Marketing Officer at Credit One Bank, commented on the partnership. "Experian's Credit Cards app on ChatGPT creates a new way for consumers to discover and compare card options through a trusted, conversational experience," he said. Coleman added that the bank is excited to be part of an innovation that helps consumers make more informed decisions before applying.

Advancing AI Strategy

The launch marks another step in Experian's strategy to integrate its financial marketplaces into popular AI platforms. The company is building conversational experiences for loans, insurance, and now credit cards. The goal is to help consumers move from asking questions to evaluating real products.

By combining its marketplaces with AI, Experian aims to create a simpler discovery process while maintaining transparency and consumer choice. Future enhancements are planned to include more personalized credit card experiences and expanded lender participation. This continues Experian's investment in AI-powered financial services.
