BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking has released a major update to its ePricer digital platform, embedding artificial intelligence directly into the workflow for pricing structured products. The new features are designed to connect idea generation, pricing, and lifecycle management more closely for the bank's institutional clients.

A key addition is a tool called On The Fly Ideas. This AI feature surfaces potential investment ideas based on the structures a client is already evaluating within ePricer. According to the bank, this allows clients to discover new options without interrupting their current pricing workflow.

From reactive pricing to proactive discovery

Blanca Gonzalez Anguita, Head of eIS eConnectivity Sales at BBVA CIB, explained the shift. "We're moving from a platform that responds to what clients want to price to one that can also help them discover what to explore next," she said. The bank believes this is where AI can fundamentally change the user experience on ePricer.

The platform uses the context of an existing quote to generate and suggest other structures a client might want to explore. This integration marks the initial phase of bringing BBVA's broader AI capabilities, grouped under 'BBVA Intelligence', into the ePricer environment.

Enhanced monitoring and management tools

The update extends beyond the initial trade idea. A new Price Roll & Alerts function lets clients reprice live structures using current market data. Users can also set alerts for automatic repricing when a specific target is met or as a financial product nears its maturity date.

BBVA has also redesigned the platform's interface, aiming for a cleaner look to make navigation and activity management more intuitive. Another new feature, Secondary Valuations, provides clients with a consolidated dashboard view of their live positions alongside current market levels.

Scaling AI across financial markets

This release is part of BBVA's wider effort to scale artificial intelligence applications across its entire group. The bank reports having numerous AI use cases already in production and has established a global AI Transformation team to accelerate deployment.

Daniel Hernandez, Head of eConnectivity at BBVA CIB, stated that AI is creating new possibilities for client interactions with financial markets. "Our focus is on turning that technology into practical capabilities that make the client experience better," he said. Hernandez indicated that the current update is just the start, with more AI-driven capabilities planned for gradual introduction.

The strategic goal for ePricer is to evolve into an increasingly intelligent platform that assists with discovery, monitoring, and response to market movements. As more BBVA Intelligence features are added, the platform's role in the daily workflow of institutional clients is expected to expand further.
