FIS launches embedded banking platform for US banks

FIS has launched its first embedded finance offering built specifically for banks. The FIS Embedded Banking Platform allows US banks to offer services like account opening and money movement directly within the business software their corporate customers use daily.
Corporate clients increasingly want to bank within their daily operational software, avoiding separate portals. This platform makes that possible. It uses bank-grade technology to keep transactions secure and compliant.
How the platform operates
Banks use the FIS platform, partner with a software provider or fintech, and embed their own accounts and payment tools into that partner's product. Corporate customers get an integrated banking experience without leaving their daily software. The bank maintains the customer relationship. The software partner controls the user experience. FIS provides the underlying infrastructure.
Banks can deploy the platform through several methods, depending on the software partner's needs. The available integration options are listed below.
Strategic importance for banks
The platform is designed to let banks maintain full customer ownership and regulatory control. Accounts reside on the bank's own balance sheet, not on a third-party virtual ledger. This leads to simpler compliance, clearer regulatory positioning, and more durable infrastructure, according to FIS.
Instead of relying only on direct sales, banks can now reach corporate customers through the software those customers already use. Embedded finance is moving banking into everyday business software. FIS says its platform aims to keep banks central to this shift.
It extends a bank's reach across the full money lifecycle. This includes deposits, accounts, payments, and capital deployment, wherever customers choose to bank.
Executive perspective
Jon Briggs, Global Head of Embedded Solutions and Money Movement at FIS, commented on the launch. "Banks' customers want banking built into the software they use to run their business every day," he said. The platform lets banks meet those expectations while staying at the center of the relationship. It also allows them to maintain the regulatory control and customer ownership that define traditional banking.
The launch represents FIS's move to provide banks with the tools needed for the embedded finance era. The platform is now available for US financial institutions.
