Sage Capital Management has selected OpenPayd to enhance its banking infrastructure for institutional digital asset clients

Sage Capital Management has chosen OpenPayd to extend the banking capabilities of its digital asset operating system for institutional clients. The integration provides clients with fast settlement and enhanced technology to move money seamlessly on a single platform.

OpenPayd will enable Sage Capital Management to issue a virtual International Bank Account Number (vIBAN) for every client. This supports precise payment tracking and simplifies reconciliation processes.

Expanded fiat payment capabilities

The partnership builds on Sage Capital Management's existing banking services by expanding USD, EUR, and GBP payment capabilities. This gives institutional clients broader fiat access for moving money into and out of digital asset markets.

Through OpenPayd, Sage Capital Management now has a USD account with SWIFT connectivity, EUR payments via SEPA, and GBP payments through both Faster Payments and SWIFT. This multi-rail access supports client payment collections and fiat settlements to liquidity providers.

Serving institutional client needs

Sage Capital Management's clients include hedge funds, asset managers, trading firms, brokers, corporate treasuries, and digital asset treasuries. The added currencies and payment networks via OpenPayd provide these institutions with greater optionality in funding activity and settling with liquidity providers, reducing reliance on a single rail or currency corridor.

Lux Thiagarajah, Chief Commercial Officer at OpenPayd, commented on the deal. "Institutional access to digital assets depends on being able to move money efficiently on both sides of the trade," he said. Thiagarajah added that fiat on- and off-ramping gives institutions greater choice in market access, while reliable payment connectivity is essential for moving funds between clients and counterparties.

Strategic partnership details

Nathan Sage, CEO at Sage Capital Management, called OpenPayd a major player in the crypto banking ecosystem. He stated the strategic partnership adds further strength and credibility to his firm's platform.

"Our focus remains on providing clients with fast, flexible, secure and seamless access to global banking networks," Sage said. He explained the partnership enables clients to move quickly between fiat and digital assets while managing payments and foreign exchange. It also allows the firm to meet high standards of transparency and regulatory alignment.

Sage Capital Management provides institutional clients with a complete operating system for digital assets, including banking, liquidity access, collateralised lending, and technology. The firm launched its banking offering earlier this year, providing clients with named, multi-currency accounts in their own legal entity alongside physical and virtual corporate debit cards linked directly to those accounts.
